I think no one mentioned brushes... Those are really useful, and you can make
many many things with them, sometimes stock photos can be limited, because if
you imagined what type of sky or grass you want to make for the scan (or your
doujin ) you can't always find similar to it, but you can make it with
brushes, they're really easy to use
There are many sites with great brushes, the biggest source of brushes I know is
DeviantART but I bet you already knew

I don't know... sometimes the anime is much more worse than the manga. But
that's rare... I'm reading Naruto manga and watching the anime too, but I like
both ^^ the actions/fighting scenes are more hmmm... 'imaginable' hehe... so
it's nicer in that view. But there are other mangas/animes which are more
emotional... ok, I can't decide ( as always ) so I would say both is good!!!
